1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Wroxham St Mary |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
Wroxham lies to the north-east
of Norwich on the south bank of the River Bure. Once a farming area with
a few wherrymen plying their river trade, Wroxham now is a bustling holiday
village. The wherries may have gone but the village is now renowned for
its holiday boat trade on the Norfolk Broads. Sadly the commercial aspects
of this trade have largely spoiled the village. St Mary's Church sits on higher ground in the south of the village, away from the hustle & bustle of the boat-yards. Tucked away behind some houses it is a haven of peace. |

These records were transcribed from microfiche 5 & 6 of the NRO collection. The records were, rather strangely, filmed slightly out of focus which would have made interpretation rather hard had the incumbent's writing styles not been so clear and legible. |
