Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Wreningham sits in Central Norfolk, about
4 miles south-east of the market town of Wymondham and adjacent to the
B1113 which links Norwich to Old Buckenham. Most of the village of Wreningham
sits away from the B-road in lanes to the west. There is a compact village
centre around a cross roads of lanes and a scatter of farms over the entire
parish. The land is largely agricultural being dominated by barley and
oilseed rape. |

The period covered by the transcript is largely the content of a single register which runs from 1813 to 1880 and is filmed on Microfilm MF1631 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. A hand-full of remaining records for 1880 were recorded in the next register and these were added from Bishop's Transcripts as this register remains with the church. MF1631 is a relatively recent filming and benefits from the superior quality which characterized these films. The images are clear and contrasting making for a relatively straightforward transcription exercise. It is to be hoped that few errors will have crept into the production of this transcript. |
