1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Worstead Baptist |
Births 1813 to 1838
The Baptist congregation in Worstead is an old one having been founded in 1706, their Meeting House is a feature of the area and was rebuilt in 1829. The records deposited include a baptismal register, however inspections reveal that this is solely a collection of the names of adults baptised with no genealogical data. This baptismal register has not been transcribed as it was viewed not to be relevant to the project. However a single Births register was collected the The National Archives when civil registration was introduced and covers births from 1706 to 1838. The portion relevant to the project was transcribed from Microfilm MF1631 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office which is a copy of the TNA film. This film, whilst adequate to the task, is not perfect but did not detract from the ability to prepare an otherwise straightforward birth register transcript. |
