Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Wheatacre lies in the extreme
southeast of Norfolk forming a stretch, here formed by the River
Waveney, of the border with neighbouring Suffolk. Wheatacre is
located roughly 5 miles northeast of the Suffolk market town of
Beccles and sits within a peninsula of Norfolk land that
penetrates into northern Suffolk and which sits within a vast
loop of the Waveney. |

A single standard 800-entry register book
covers not only the period of this transcript but runs onward to
completion in the early 21st century, such was the small size of
the congregation. This register is legacy filmed on Microfilm
MFRO713 from which this transcript was prepared. In recent times
digitised imagery of this register has been made available to
those with appropriate subscriptions on most of the major
commercial sites making for a wealth of resources to view. As a
consequence the process of transcription was straightforward and
whilst there are some grumbles about the standard of handwriting
there were no major issues from that quarter. |
