Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Westwick lies in North-eastern Norfolk just
to the south of the market town of North Walsham and along the road from
there to Norwich. The parish is dominated by the Westwick House and nowadays
is sparsely populated with no real village centre. What population reside
in the parish is in a scatter of cottages largely between the road and
the railway line which separates the parish from Worstead to the east
and Swanton Abbott to the west. |

The register which forms the basis of this transcript is a very recent deposit and is filmed on Microfilm MF/RO690. This is a very recent filming and benefits from the high quality of image which is being produced more recently. This is probably just as well as the original material is clearly in a poor condition. Despite the excellent images many were faded and difficult to read. Despite these drawbacks quality of image and handwriting were sufficient to make this a relatively straightforward transcript to prepare. It is hoped few errors will have crept into its compilation. |
