Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Wendling sits in central Norfolk a few miles
west of the market town of East Dereham. The village was formerly on the
busy A47 road connecting Norwich and King's Lynn but has now been by-passed
by the new road. Most of the village is grouped around what was the main
cross-roads with the A47 and is now a few yards south of the new line.
The former main road is much quieter now and the village is a rather more
peaceful place as a result. |

There is a single register which covers the period of this transcript which has been filmed on Microfilm MF/RO496 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript has been prepared. The filming is a modern one and of rather good quality with clear and contrasting images. As a result this was a straightforward transcript to produce with only the occasional difficult handwriting to give cause for concern. |
