1813 to 1880 Baptism Project North Walsham Wesleyan Chapel |
Baptisms 1822 to 1837
A Wesleyan Methodist chapel was first licensed in North Walsham in 1797 and the town became head of a Circuit in 1813. A chapel was erected in Churchgate in 1820 "in lieu of a former one" of unknown location. This chapel eventually closed in or around 1870. There is but a single register deposited in the transcript period, that being part of the general surrender of 1837 and is housed at The National Archives as their reference RG4/0651. The register is a plain unruled book manually segregated to provide 4 entries to a page. A copy of this register is available at Norfolk Record Office on their Microfilm MF1152 and digitised copies are available for those with a subscription on most of the major subscription sites. As a consequence this was a straightforward piece to prepare. |
