1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Walpole St Andrew |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
One of a pair of villages in
the far west of Norfolk's Fenland, St Andrew is rather over-shadowed by
its neighbour though the two are practically joined into a single entity
these days. Lying on an island of slightly higher ground adjacent to the
A17 Washway, Walpole St Andrew forms the border with Lincolnshire. |

These records were transcribed
from Microfilm NF559 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. This
is an old filming and distinctly faded in places. As the film is a positive
(white background) image there were a few occasions when the writing was
difficult to interpret. Given the condition of the film and the difficulty in reading the image, the transcript was also not helped by what appears to have been a tradition of employing personnel with "eccentric" hand-writing. Whilst every effort has been made to eliminate transcription errors - for this parish they cannot be guaranteed to have been zero. |
