1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Tasburgh St Mary |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Tasburgh lies in central southern Norfolk
south of the city of Norwich and adjacent to the main A140 road which
links Norwich with Ipswich. As its name suggests the village lies in the
River Tas valley. The village is built on slightly higher ground in the
angle between the Tas and a major tributary arriving from the east. The
heart of the village lies on an westward leading lane off the A140 and
running just above the flood plain on dry ground. |

Two register books cover the period of the transcript, the first a standard 800-entry book runs from 1813 to 1870 and is filmed on Microfiche 6 & 7 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The second book commenced in 1870 was recently deposited at the Norfolk Record Office and the transcript, originally prepared from the Bishop's Transcripts and incomplete, was re-checked and completed using the original register. As a result this became a straightforward transcript to prepare and it is to be hoped that few errors will have crept into its production. |
