1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Stanfield St Margaret |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Stanfield lies in Central Norfolk, midway
between the market towns of Fakenham and East Dereham. The parish is a
scatering of houses and farms just north of the road from North Elmham
to King's Lynn. This is a sparely populated area in the time of the transcript
with only a few hundred inhabitants - this is reflected in the small volume
of baptisms. |

These records were transcribed from Microfilm
MF1389 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. Whilst this is a
recent filming the standard of preservation of the original records was
obviously poor as the images show very faded writing. Clearly only advances
in amaging technique have permitted getting a readable result fot this parish. Given the usual issues with hand-writing and its legibility and the faded nature of the register it is expected that reading and interpretation errors may have crept in to the compilation of this transcript. It is to be hoped these are few in number. |
