1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Scarning St Peter & St Paul |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Scarning lies in Central Norfolk, just to
the west of the market town of East Dereham and adjacent to the former
A47 east/west route from Norwich to King's Lynn. Thankfully Scarning has
now been bypassed by the main road and has returned to something of the
rural tranquility of old. Scarning is very much a nucleated village with
a clear centre around the main village crossroads. Housing spreads out
in all four cardinal directions from this point. Scarning is fortunate
in having kept most of its services with shops and other facilities still
present. |

Two standard 800 entry register books cover the period of the transcript - the second proceeding into more modern times. Both register are filmed on Microfilm MF708 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The film, whilst being rather elderly, is of adequate quality for the task and as a result this was a straightforward transcript to prepare. It is hoped few errors will have crept into the results. |
