Baptisms 1813 to 1880
Runton parish lies on the North
Norfolk coast between the twin holiday centres of Sheringham & Cromer.
Now split to East & West Runton this area was previously a single
parish. The parish now relies for its income to a large extent upon the
holiday trade with numerous caravan and camp sites along the cliff-top.
In the past this was a quiet fishing village with boats pulled up along
the beach. |

This transcript was compiled from two sources,
the first register microfilmed on MR/RO303, the second on microfiche 4 in
the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. The first register is an old
filming and rather feint in places making reading a little troublesome.
The second register is clearer but still fading. It is to be hoped few errors will have occurred in the compilation of this transcript despite the difficult filming. Most entries were readable with care and a few were cross-referenced with the 1851 census and civil registration records to determine the content. Regrettably 100% accuracy cannot be guaranteed for this parish. |
