1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Pulham Market St Mary Magdalene |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Pulham Market lies in southern Norfolk.
The village, which is quite substantial, lies just to the east of the
main Norwich to Ipswich A140 road and is also about 6 miles north-east
of the market town of Diss. The village lies in a slight valley of a tributary
of the River Wensum which affords some relief from the agricultural plateau
to the north of the parish. The village still retains all of the expected
amenities with flourishing shops, pubs and small businesses. |

There are three registers making up the source for this transcript. The three are filmed on Microfiche 10 through to 14 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. The filming is elderly and all three registers suffer from faint and poor quality images. The third register, however, was also badly abused and suffers from water damage with bleed through of entries as well as crinkled pages which make parts of the entries illegible. Much reference has been made to Bishops Transcripts to prepare substantial parts of this transcript where the primary source was unusable. Despite these travails there was usually one image which was readable for every entry and as such it was despite the caveat above still fairly straightforward to prepare. |
