Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Ormesby St Michael (also known as Little
Ormesby) sits with its larger sister Ormesby St Margaret in eastern Norfolk
on the ancient island of Flegg. The parish lies on the A149 which links
Great Yarmouth and Cromer just east of where this road crosses Ormesby
Broad. There is little distinct settlement for Ormesby St Michael it being
largely a continuation of the larger village, a separate settlement lies
by the Broad. |

The period of this transcript is covered by a single 800-entry register book which is filmed on Microfiche 4 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. This fiche is a rather elderly filming and suffers from the standards of that period. The fiche lacks the crispness of more recent filming and has fuzzy images on occasion. Despite these deficiencies this was a fairly straightforward transcript to prepare largely due to the good standard of preservation of the original book and for once not too much problem with handwriting. |
