Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of West Newton lies in western Norfolk about
5 miles north-east of the port of King's Lynn and just east of the A149
coast road which runs around the north-western corner of the county from
King's Lynn to Cromer. The village of West Newton lies on the southern
edge of the Queen's Sandringham estate and has close connections with
the Royal Family and its servants. The village is strung out along the
B1439 which forms the southern boundary of the estate. |

A single standard 800-entry register volume covers the period of this transcript and indeed continues until completion in 1899. This register is filmed on Microfilm MF1702 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The film is one of a very recent batch and is of the excellent quality currently being obtained. The images are crisp and contrasting making for a rather straightforward transcript to prepare. It is to be hoped few errors will have crept into its preparation. |
