1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Letheringsett St Andrew |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Letheringsett lies in northern Norfolk about
a mile west of the market town of Holt. Letheringsett sits on the busy
A148 road where it crosses the River Glaven, the village suffers somewhat
from the traffic passing through, a patina of dust on the faces of the
properties diminishes its attractiveness. The village would have largely
been an arable settlement at the time of this transcript, although the
hall and its grounds would have provided some variation with pastures
and parkland. For such a small place it was once home to a fairly large
brewery which has disappeared over the centuries. |

A single standard 800-entry register book covers not only the period of this transcript but also carries on to finish in the early 20th century. This register is filmed on Microfilm MF700 in the collection of Norfolk Record Office (which was used to prepare this transcript) and also images are available freely to view on Familysearch (which were used to augment any difficult entries). As a result of these twin sources this was a straightforward piece to prepare. |
