Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of All Saints, also known as South Lynn, was the first to develop outside the mediaeval heart of King's Lynn proper. The parish was initially a strip settlement along the main route south from the bridge crossing the Mill Fleet. Gradually the parish expanded to fill the whole of this area south to the outer walls of the town and nowadays includes an area south along the line of the A10 trunk route. As can be seen from the father's occupation this was an area dominated by the port of Lynn, the majority were Mariners, Shipwrights and Dock Porters. Despite this there is a wide range of acitivities indicating a thiriving commercial centre. |

All Saints church now sits rather forlornly in an area largely consisting of unsavoury public housing and back-to-back terraces. The church bereft of its tower is much put upon by its surroundings. These records were transcribed from fiche 9 through 16 of the Norfolk Record Office collection. |
