Baptisms 1813 to 1880
Itteringham parish lies in northern central Norfolk, on
the north ban of the river Bure and north-west of the market town of Aylsham. The
parish is quite nucleated with a clear centre around the church and the
cross-roads immediately north of the Bure bridge. The parish is, as expected,
largely agricultural with large arable fields now dominating the scene.
The parish absorbed the smaller parish of Mannington to the north and
the church there, an estate church, fell into ruin. |

These records were transcribed from Microfilm
MF1674 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. This is one of the
recent batch of films raised in 2006/7 and benefits from the latest technology
to produce a superbly clear and contrasty image. As a consequence of several slightly troublesome hands it is not possible to give an unequivocable guarentee of accuracy but this was a simple transcript to prepare and easy on the eye. |
