Baptisms 1813 to 1880
Honing parish sits in north-eastern Norfolk midway between
North Walsham and Stalham and just to the east of the A149. The village
is compact with a maze of inter-connecting lanes in the centre. The village
sits astride one of Norfolk's main hking trails the Weaver's Way, a name
that is indicative of the origins of many of the settlements in the area. |

These records were transcribed from microfiche 5 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. This fiche represents an image made in excess of 25 years ago and considering its age was acceptable if a little pasty in places. It is usual to raise a caveat regarding accuracy based upon the likelihood of some entries being mis-interpreted because of poor hand-writing. In the case of Honing that caveat has to be large as the parish seems to have been cursed with a succession of eccentric hands. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure accuracy it is possible on this occasion that errors may have crept into this transcript. |
