1813 to 1880 Baptism Project East Harling St Peter & St Paul |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
East Harling parish lies in southern Norfolk north-east
of the market town of Thetford and just south of the main A11 Norwich
to London road. The village is substantial with all facilities still intact.
East Harling forms the northern entrance to the Brecks with extensive
sandy heaths to the south and west of the village. The busy B1111 runs
through the village as a main street and is lined with shops, businesses
and pubs. East Harling has its own station and recently has been graced
by England's only whisky distillery. |

Two deposited register books cover the period of the transcript, the first a standard 800 entry register covers 1813 to 1838, the second a 2400 entry book runs through to the end of the transcript period and indeed onwards to 1888. Both registers are filmed on Microfiche 6 through to 10 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. Whilst the fiche are rather elderly and the images are not ideal, the standard of preservation of the registers is such that an acceptable image was present throughout - as a result only the normal caveats regarding handwriting apply to what was a straightforward transcript. It is to be hoped few errors will have crept into its completion. |
