Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Gimingham sits in North-Eastern Norfolk
barely a mile from the North Sea coast and 4 miles north of the market
town of North Walsham. The village is small and is strung out along a
narrow lane which runs from the coastal road inland towards Trunch. Most
houses and farm cottages are gathered around a junction of lanes just
north of Gimingham's mill at a crossing of a small brook. Here is one
of the features of the village; a small collection of fish ponds which
has been dug to the north-west of the lane. |

A single standard 800-entry register book covers the period of the transcript and continues up to 1901. This register is filmed on Microfilm MF 1644 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. The film is a reltively recent filming and benefits from the advances in technology having clear and crisp images which are a joy to view. As a result this was a straightforward transcript to prepare and it is hoped that few errors will have crept into its construction. |
