1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Gaywood St Faith |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Gaywood lies in West Norfolk, Gaywood is
effectively an eastern suburb of the town and port of King's Lynn. King's
Lynn expanded eastwards during the early twentieth century and what had
previously been a separate village was engulfed. The Gayton Road which
travels eastwards is the main artery of the suburb and older and newer
housing estates to north and south line this route. |

The period of the transcript is covered by three standard 800-entry register books. All three books are filmed on Microfilm MF/RO243 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The film is one of an early batch and suffers in comparison to present standards being faint in places and lacking clarity and contrast. The parish has also been unfortunately in suffering from clerics with rather poor handwriting at times leading to difficulties in reading some entries. To summarise, this was not a straightforward transcript to prepare and the author expects that some entries will have been recorded in error. I hope the effects are minimal but on this occasion cannot guarantee complete accuracy. |
