1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Little Ellingham St Peter |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Little Ellingham lies in south central Norfolk
about 3 - 4 miles northwest of the market town of Attleborough. Little
Ellingham sits in lanes about a mile north of the B1077 road which connects
Attleborough with Watton and a similar distance south of the B1108 which
connects the latter with the city of Norwich. Little Ellingham is a small
and compact village sitting on rather a flat plain dominated by large
arable fields. Arable farming would have provided the mainstay of the
village economy for many centuries. Today the village is still something
of a backwater, most village facilities having been lost over the years. |

A single standard 800-entry register book covers not only the period of this transcript but also runs onward to complete in the 1920s. This register is filmed on Microfiche 2 & 3 in the collection of Norfolk Record Office but digitised images are available on Familysearch and the commercial web providers and are of much better quality hence they were used to prepare this transcript. As a consequence this was a straightforward piece to prepare with only minor grumbles regarding handwriting. |
