Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Cranworth sits in central Norfolk about
5 miles south of the market town of East Dereham and midway between the
large villages of Shipdham and Hingham. The village consists of a concentration
of houses along the broad lane connecting Shipdham with Scoulton (on the
Norwich to Watton road). The parish sits on high ground to the east of
the Blackwater River a significant tributary of the River Yare. |

A single register book covers most of the period of this transcript with just 3 entries from the second register, these were drawn from the Bishops Transcripts. The register is filmed on Microfiche 6 & 7 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. The fiche are rather elderly and the images are of a poor quality being faint and lacking contrast. However despite this the entries were readable and a result this was a straightforward transcript to prepare. As usual there are caveats regarding the handwriting but it is to be hoped few errors have crept in. |
