Baptisms 1813 to 1880
Corpusty parish sits as a twin
to Saxthorpe either side of a crossing point of the river Bure, where
the B road from Norwich to Holt reaches the Bure. Saxthorpe occupies the
north bank, Corpusty the south but in reality they function as a single
village. Corpusty as such carries the core of the settlement with shops,
village green and pubs spreading west along the Bure valley. |

These records were transcribed largely from
MF/RO558 with the latter part of the first ledger and the second continiung
onto MF/RO559. The filming was clear throughout with good contrast and imaging.
It is fair to add, however that the parish was not always blessed with individuals
of a neat and clear hand. Whilst every effort has been made to make an accurate transciption there were on occasion entries which were not fully readable and in places a "best guess" has been made. It is possible that a small percentage of these mis-reads may result in inaccuracy. |
