Baptisms 1813 to 1880
Chedgrave is the twin village
to Loddon, across the west bank of the River Chet. Today there is little
to distinguish the two except the river and its bridge with both parishes
merging into a continuous habited area. The parish is compact and built
along the river terraces that rise to the north-west of the river along
the lines of the Loddon to Norwich road, now superceded by the by-pass. |

These records were transcribed from microfilm
MF 1653 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. This represents
a relatively recent filming and this is reflected in the excellent images
with good contrast. As a consequence of these viewing conditions only the hand-writing of the encumbant stands in the way of an accurate transcript. The usual caveat applies to this but on this occasion it is to hoped few errors will have crept in to this transcript. |
