Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Burnham Norton sits on Norfolk's remote
northern coast astride the coastal main A149 which runs from King's Lynn
to Cromer. The parish is bordered to the north by extensive salt marshes
with the cluster of houses lying along the former historic coastline.
The small village is a group of houses around a "U" shaped road
system to the north of the coastal road. It is a haven for weekend visitors
drawn to the marshes for walking, cycling and bird-watching. |

The register from which this transcript was prepared was filmed on Microfiche 6 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. This fiche is an elderly filming but despite the relatively poor images the records are clear as their state of preservation must be very good. Subject to the usual caveats regarding interpretation of difficult hands this was a straightforward transcript to prepare and it is to be hoped few errors will have crept into its construction. |
