1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Burlingham St Peter |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Burlingham St
Peter, one of three Burlinghams in this area, is located in
eastern Norfolk about 2 miles west of the large village of Acle.
Burlingham St Peter sits immediately north of the busy A47 road
which connects the city of Norwich with the port of Great
Yarmouth. Burlingham St Peter no longer exists as a separate
entity, it has joined together with Burlingham St Andrew to form
North Burlingham, little more than hamlet even combined into one.
The A47 road previously passed through the strip of properties
that forms North Burlingham but now flows slightly further, but
still noisily to the south. It is to be hoped that future
improvements to this major arterial route will improve the
environment of the village. Burlingham St Peter was one of
Norfolk's smallest rural parishes, a mere 399 acres with roughly
2/3rds put to arable with the remainder pasture & plantation.
