Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Bradfield sits in North-eastern Norfolk
about a mile north of the market town of North Walsham and just east of
the A149 road that links North Walsham to the seaside resort of Cromer.
Bradfield is about 3-4 miles inland of Norfolk's north-eastern coast.
There is little of a village to Bradfield merely a cluster of cottages
and farms running northwards from the Antingham to Trunch lane in the
direction of Bradfield Hall. The parish lies in the headwaters of the
infant River Ant. |

A single standard 800-entry register book covers the period of the transcript and indeed continues up to modern times, reflecting the scanty population in the modern era. This register book was relatively recently deposited and is microfilmed on Microfilm MF1630 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office; this film was used to prepare the transcript. The film is recent and shows the excellent qualities of clear contrasting images available from modern filming techniques. As a result this was a straightforward transcript to prepare with only minor qualms regarding the standard of handwriting. It is to be hoped that few errors will have crept into its production. |
