Baptisms 1813 to 1880
Bintree parish sits in central Norfolk midway between
Norwich and the market town of Fakenham and adjacent to the A1067 which
joins the two. The village sits on a high plateau to the east of the River
Wensum, the street pattern is rather like a reversed westward facing "F"
with a broad High street marking the former route of the A1067 now straitened
and to the east of the village. The surrounding area is dominated by large
arable fields and open vistas dominated by the wide Norfolk skies. |

The register from which this transcript is
prepared is filmed on Microfiche 6 & 7 in the collection of the Norfolk
Record Office. The filing is unfortunately rather elderly, being almost
20 years old, and suffers in comparison with more recent productions. Sadly
many of the entries were particularly badly faded - the first 100 entries
being amongst the hardest to read yet encountered. Frequent reference was
also made to the surviving Bishop's Transcripts which were in just as poor
a condition. As a consequence of the poor state of this filming no guarantees can be extended as to total accuracy on this occasion. Persons using this transcript should consider it as coming with a accuracy warning. |
