Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Billockby lies in eastern Norfolk on the
ancient island of Flegg. The parish forms the southernmost land of the
island immediately opposite the crossing from Acle. This route, formerly
a marshy crossing of low & wet pastures, now carries the modern A1064
route between Acle and Caister. Billockby has always been a very small
parish with a low population and today it is represented by a cluster
of houses around the junction of the main road and the B road which leads
to Potter Heigham. |

Sadly the parish registers for the period of the transcript have yet to be deposited with the Norfolk Record Office. As a consequence the next best thing, the surviving Bishops Transcripts have been used to prepare this transcript. Unfortunately this is not a complete run and several gaps are apparent in the records which cannot be completed. The BTs are as usual for these records of a very mixed quality and on this occasion complete accuracy cannot be guaranteed due to poor quality of images. Should the register eventually arrive in the public domain this transcript will be rechecked and completed. |
