Limpenhoe St Botolph |
Baptisms 1813 to 1881
Limpenhoe was a small farming community lying in the Yare valley between Norwich & Great Yarmouth. Until the coming of the railway this was a very remote area devoted to farming and the use of the marsh for reed, willows and the wildfowl and fish it supported. The occupation of the fathers listed clearly show this dependance upon farming and the support of the same. St Botolph's church is largely a Victorian edifice having been almost rebuilt in 1882. There are sufficient remaining traces of the earlier 15th century structure to indicate the style of the previous church |

The data transcribed comes from fiche 4 in the series for Limpenhoe, the fiche are on occasion rather faint and on occasion names have been determined by reference to the inhabitants listed in the 1851 census for Norfolk. Later entries become much clearer and readable. |
